Are Locker Boards hard to ride?
Riding a Locker Board is just as easy to ride as a traditional skateboard. It's about foot placement. Your feet are closer together because the board is smaller. When cruising, it's best to keep your feet on the bolts on the deck. The board is easy to do tricks with because the compact size makes it flip faster.
Where does Locker Board get decks to upcycle?
Locker Board skateboard decks are upcycled from recycled skateboard decks provided by our manufacturer, PS Stix. The recycled skateboard decks are unused - they are decks that were slightly blemish during the artwork application process at the manufacturer. Carson rescues these boards from landfills. The manufacturer reshapes the decks into Locker Board decks, sands out the blemish and applies the new Locker Board artwork. Each board is unique in color and sanding pattern - creating a one-of-a-kind Locker Board deck.
What size is the standard Locker Board deck?
The standard Locker Board skateboard decks are 17 inches long for the Travel Cruiser and Travel Trickster and 24 inches long for the Shred-it Skateboard. Widths vary depending upon the sustainable deck that we rescued from the landfill. Widths vary between 7.5-inch to 9-inch.
Does Locker Board refit its skateboards with new or used parts?
New. In fact, Locker Board refits every board with all-new parts that currently include:
- A 17-in. or 24-in, Locker Board Sustainable Deck is affixed with New U.S.-made Jessup Grip Tape
- New U.S.-made Destructo Trucks
- New U.S.-made custom Locker Board wheels by Aend Industries
- New ABEC 7 Steel Bearings
- New Risers (on Travel Cruiser only)
Do I have to apply my own grip tape?
No, your new Locker Board skateboard arrives fully assembled and ready to ride, complete with brand new U.S.-made Jessup grip tape already affixed.
If my Locker Board arrives with a problem, what should I do?
Problems with brand new boards are rare. But if you notice a potential issue after your out-of-the box inspection, please set the board aside without riding it and call us immediately at 949-554-4448.
Do you have any tips for keeping it well maintained?
Maintaining your new Locker Board is really smart! Our recommendations for care and upkeep are the same as for any skateboard that you want to look great and last longer, including keeping it inside when you are done riding.

Why does Locker Board support Ocean Unite?
The ocean has been Carson's inspiration for his business and ideas. He started Locker Board to pay for his surf contests and lessons. He invented his first product, Streetubez, so he could surf anywhere, anytime. The ocean needs our help. It's turning into plastic soup. Over 8 million tons of plastic goes in the ocean each year. In 2050 it's estimated that there will be more plastic then fish in the ocean. Locker Board now donates $1 for each skateboard sold to Ocean Unite. Ocean Unite is a non-profit focused on uniting and activating powerful voices for ocean conservation.
Why don’t you hand make Locker Board mini-skateboards anymore?
As Carson’s mom, Carrie, will tell you, Carson loves nothing more than disappearing to his backyard workshop to hand-make Locker Board skateboards. However, because demand for Locker Boards is so high, there’s no way he could make them fast enough. That’s why we asked our friends at world-famous PS Stix Skateboard Manufacturing to handle production. Don’t worry, Locker Boards are still made by hand and still the only non-folding skateboard available that is compact enough to fit inside a backpack.
