Carson Kropfl is an 11-year-old from San Clemente, Ca. He came up with his concept because he wanted to have a skateboard that fit in his backpack and locker. His parents told him he had to clean and do chores to pay for his surf contests and lessons. Carson hates to clean, so he decided to start selling Locker Board skateboards instead!
Locker Board decks are handmade from recycled skateboard decks. The decks are 16 inches long and have been reshaped to fit inside of backpacks and lockers. Carson designed the Locker Board so it would be a versatile skateboard that's easy to ride and take anywhere! You can cruise, do tricks and take it to the skate park!
Each upcycled deck has been cut, sanded, drilled, cleaned and re-painted with a clear coat. These are one-of-a-kind, and have been signed and numbered by Carson.
Recently, President Trump sent Carson a letter in response to the Locker Board he sent to his son, Barron. President Trump said "I am impressed by your craftsmanship and business spirit"! Locker Board donates $1 for every skateboard sold to the Tony Hawk Foundation - because they are focused on empowering kids through skating!
The left over pieces of skateboard decks that aren't used, are then donated to Johnson Middle School's Wood Shop Class in Westminister, CA and the students have made some amazing projects from these pieces!
Also, Carson has joined a national, non-profit called Independent Youth Organization. He is one of the members of the organization's "Teen Entrepreneur Network". In the Fall, Carson will donate his time to speak and educate other teens about starting businesses. His first speaking engagement will be in October.
